Features

Recent technological innovations in CAD/CAM design and digital printing and milling have revolutionized the dental industry by offering new digital workflows for restorative cases. At TDL, our technicians stay up to date with the latest digital materials and workflows for digital dentures and removeable products.

Since 2014, we've been integrating CAD/CAM design and 3D printing into our lab's traditional workflows to leverage the accuracy of digital design with the durability of traditional PMMA acrylic. We also offer fully digital dentures that our technicians design and print onsite using the Lucitone Digital Print Denture™ system, a premium 3D denture resin that exceeds ISO minimum standards for high-impact and flexural strength.

Key Advantages

☑ Precise fit with CAD/CAM technology & 3D printing

☑ May require fewer clinical appointments compared to traditional acrylic dentures

☑ Easy to reprint or duplicate (e.g., to replace a lost or damaged denture)

☑ May be more hypoallergenic for patients with complex allergies due to significantly lower residual monomer (methyl methacrylate) compared to heat-processed and milled PMMA dentures

Limitations

✗ Limited aesthetics compared to traditional dentures without upgrades

✗ Less durable and more prone to functional fractures and wear (especially denture teeth)

✗ Poor repairability -- fractures, breaks, and relines require fabricating a new denture

✗ Digital resins lack the proven longevity of traditional denture materials
