This Limited Warranty, Remake & Refund Policy for The Dental Lab, Inc. ("we", "us", "our", or "TDL") describes the warranty coverage available for dental appliances and devices fabricated by our laboratory. It also explains when remakes, repairs, credits, or refunds may be provided.

Our goal is to provide consistent, high-quality laboratory work and to resolve legitimate laboratory-related problems promptly and fairly.

1. Limited Warranty

TDL provides a limited warranty against laboratory errors, material failure, and defects in workmanship for a set warranty period of 1 year, 90 days, or 30 days, according to the product or appliance type (see table below). Please note that the warranty period begins on the date of the original laboratory invoice.

When a case qualifies under this warranty, we will provide a no-charge remake of the original appliance or device. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, discoloration, accidental damage, misuse, or changes in the patient's clinical condition.

Warranty Period, 1 Year from Invoice

  • Complete Dentures

  • Implant Dentures/Overdentures

  • Metal Framework Partial Dentures

Warranty Period, 90 Days from Invoice

  • Flexible Partial Dentures (DuraFlex)

  • Acrylic Partial Dentures & Flippers

  • Immediate Dentures

Warranty Period, 30 Days from Invoice

  • Orthodontic Appliances (e.g., Hawley)

  • Splints & Occlusal Guards

  • Surgical Guides

  • Thermoformed Appliances (e.g., Essix)

  • All Other Dental Appliances

2. What Does the Warranty Cover?

Within the applicable warranty period, we may provide a no-charge remake when the need for a remake is caused by:

  • A laboratory error.

  • Material failure or a manufacturing material defect.

  • A defect in laboratory workmanship.

  • A laboratory-related error that prevents the appliance from meeting the original prescription or specifications.

Normal wear and tear and discoloration are not covered by this warranty.

3. Fit-Related Remakes

Remakes due to fit will be covered when submitted within one month of the original laboratory invoice, provided that the original case was fabricated from adequate clinical records and the remake is not otherwise excluded by this policy.

If a case does not meet your clinical expectations upon delivery, please contact us promptly about your concerns. We will review the case with you and, when appropriate, schedule a complimentary remake. We take great pride in our technical work and want to ensure that your patients receive a well-fitting, functional, and durable appliance that fits their treatment needs.

An appliance that fits the original model is not considered a laboratory error simply because it does not fit the patient intraorally. Fit discrepancies may result from impressions, models, scans, bite registrations, preparations, treatment plans, clinical records, or changes in the patient's oral condition.

In these situations, the applicable laboratory fees may apply.

4. Repairs and Relines

We provide a no-charge remake option for qualifying denture and partial denture repairs and relines when the work does not meet the requested specifications because of a laboratory error, material failure, or defect in workmanship.

The original appliance must be returned to TDL for evaluation and modification. This allows our technicians to evaluate the original appliance and make the required correction. For eligible cases, we can offer a complimentary in-house repair or adjustment if desired to help minimize the inconvenience to your office and your patient. Please contact us for more details about this service option.

A new appliance requested in place of an appliance that can be repaired or relined may be subject to the full laboratory fee.

Our warranties on temporary-use products, such as immediate/temporary acrylic partials or Essix removable partial denture, do not include relines or reline adjustments.

5. Warranty Conditions

Product warranties apply only to the original doctor and patient and are not transferable.

Remakes will only be covered by the warranty when the patient has followed the recommended instructions for care, cleaning, storage, and hygiene. The warranty does not apply to cases in which the doctor or practice has chosen to disregard TDL's technical recommendations. Removable restorations must be returned to TDL for evaluation to determine whether the warranty applies.

If a case does not meet your clinical expectations upon delivery, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally before sending a remake request or other new case. We will work with you to determine the cause and the appropriate solution.

6. What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not apply to:

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Discoloration or staining.

  • Accidental damage, dropping, misuse, abuse, or improper handling.

  • Failure to follow recommended care or hygiene instructions.

  • Changes in the patient's oral condition or anatomy after fabrication.

  • Changes to the treatment plan, preparation, occlusion, vertical dimension, tooth position, shade, tooth form, material, design, or other clinical specifications.

  • New or altered impressions, models, scans, bite registrations, or other clinical records submitted after completion of the original case.

  • Inaccurate, distorted, damaged, or otherwise inadequate clinical records.

  • Appliances that fit the original model but do not fit the patient.

  • Cases in which TDL's technical recommendations were disregarded.

  • Lost appliances or devices.

  • Cases submitted after the applicable warranty period.

  • Requests for changes unrelated to laboratory errors or material defects.

  • Work performed by another dental laboratory, including appliances fabricated by TDL and subsequently relined, modified, adjusted, or altered by another laboratory.

All warranty repairs, remakes, and replacements must be completed at The Dental Lab.

7. Remake and Warranty Submissions

To help us process a remake or warranty case, please follow these steps:

Notify the Lab: Contact us directly to discuss the case and the clinical deficiencies or issues with the final appliance or device.

Return the Original Item: The original appliance or device must be returned for the claim to be processed when required by this policy. Please contact us in advance to arrange a pickup or request a prepaid shipping label.

Include the Original Lab Slip or Rx: Please include a copy of the original laboratory slip or prescription with the returned item.

Return Complete Information: Missing or incomplete returns may delay processing or lead to claim denial.

TDL may also request the original models, impressions, scans, photographs, or other case information needed to evaluate the claim.

8. Full Laboratory Fees

Full laboratory fees will apply when a remake, replacement, repair, or modification is required for reasons not covered by this warranty.

This includes:

  • Changes to the prescription or treatment plan.

  • Changes to shade, tooth selection, tooth arrangement, design, or materials.

  • Changes to the patient's preparation or clinical condition.

  • New or corrected impressions, models, scans, bites, or other clinical records.

  • An appliance that fits the original model but does not fit the patient.

  • Normal wear and tear or discoloration.

  • A request for a different product or design after completion of the original case.

  • Work performed or altered by another laboratory.

  • Failure to return the original appliance when required.

  • Cases submitted outside the applicable warranty period.

  • Cases in which TDL's technical recommendations were disregarded.

  • Any other circumstance excluded by this policy.

9. Refunds and Credits

Our primary warranty remedy is a repair or no-charge remake. If a repair or remake is not reasonably possible, TDL may provide a laboratory credit or refund of the applicable original laboratory fee. Refunds or credits do not include fees charged by the dental office, dentist, shipping carrier, or other third parties.

10. Turnaround Times and Delivery

Unless otherwise agreed by both parties, The Dental Lab and Customer, in writing, delivery periods specified in our turnaround schedule are considered approximate.

When scheduling patient appointments, please anticipate that there may be local delivery or shipping delays outside of our control.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Limited Warranty, Remake & Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our laboratory practices or services. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revisions were made. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
